Projects and New Fun Finds!

When decorating a room, there are quite a few elements I like to include; one being... a chandelier! Could have guessed? I think a chandelier completely transforms a room into something so special!
Chandeliers add such beauty to any room! (please excuse the V-Day place mats- these pics were taken before V-Day!)

Antique or Bust! I found this gorgeous lady at a local antique store and knew I had to have it the minute I laid eyes on her! She's quite the heavy weight! But aint she a pretty little thing??

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day/President's Day Weekend!

Spring= Right Around the Corner!

I just totally got in spring mode with all the sunshine we have been having down here... SOO I had to go and buy springy flowers to put in my vases! Totally brightened up the home!

AND I finished this darling little antique stand...

AND I got creative with matting this picture of Christ... The pic of Christ was actually something I learned how to make in a class at our church by a woman who is SO creative... It is a transfer onto canvas made to look aged... I love the way it turned out! I didn't want to modernize it by properly matting it, so I just used vintage scrapbook paper!
Been keeping busy!! Next on my list? A huge antique dresser that needs a little TLC!

More Beautiful Cottage Kitchens...

I have quite the obsession with kitchens! I am in the process of rethinking how I want to redesign my kitchen... these pics are just a few inspiration pictures for me.. feel free to use them for your inspiration too!

FRESH!! I absolutely love this pantry. And what a brilliant way to utilize the pantry door as a huge "To Do List" chalkboard! The open cabinetry also adds visual appeal with beautiful dishes on display!

Fun. Daring. Thinking outside the box with color.

I absolutely love this kitchen. It radiates with cottage feel yet still allowing a fresh and somewhat modern look. I love the classic backsplash.

I love the open shelving for this kitchen! A perfect way to display the fabulous array of colorful dishes! I also love the roman shade. The pattern is elegant, but welcoming.

Fresh. Airy. Functional.

Love the arch above the stovetop. Again, love the backsplash. This kitchen is the classic cottage kitchen!

The clock is to die for! You can never go wrong with beadboard cabinetry.

Love the minty fresh wall color. Goes so well with the mahogany countertops. I wouldn't normally like these countertops, but it goes beautiful with the wall color and white cabinetry!

Thrilled!

I am so thrilled to have won both a giveaway and a blog award in the same week! (Actually, the blog award was given a few weeks ago, but I was just recently informed..)

B. Catherine Designs nominated me for this award. I was informed by another blogger that I had been nominated so I went over to the website and fell in love! Her blog is absolutely charming! I am so glad I was able to discover her blog!

Here is the story behind the award:

The authors say that blogs who receive this award are exceedingly charming. This blog invests in the PROXIMITY in space, time and relationships. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that even more friendships are propagated. So, now it's time for me to pass on this award and 'propagate' some friendships!

Now here's for the fun part.. I get to nominate! I am nominating 3 blogs who are truly inspiring and fabulous to read:

Crossroads Cottage
Pawsh Poodle Boutique (Prairee Princess)
Romantique Inspirations

As for the giveaway, darling "Sophee-a Laroo Bijoux and Sheri too " over at The Pawsh Poodle Boutique and Prairee Princess informed me that I had won her giveaway! I am so excited. She is such a sweet and talented woman and I am thrilled to be receiving the "perfect box of goodies" !! (P.S. I already knew I would give her the blog award above before I saw that I had won the giveaway!)

Thanks you girls for making my week that much better!

I have finally started putting my Valentine's Decorations out! Here is a little sneakpeek of the first little bit of the decorating ; )
