Back From the Dead!

I have arisen from my grave and am back in the real world! Our home finally closed and we are all moved in (but not completely out of boxes yet) and I have Internet once again! It is crazy to be starting from scratch in a new home with ALL white BARE walls, bare closets, and empty cupboards waiting to be stocked... I have to say that I thought I would be in heaven, but in all honesty, I am a bit overwhelmed! I know, I know.. one room at a time. It just wouldn't be fun to do it all at once, let alone heavy on the wallet! I am in the process of getting my living room planned out first as it is the first room I look at when I walk through the door. I am thinking a cool muted grey for the walls with some paneling around the bottom... (like the paneling (wainscoting) hiding behind the darling buffet below). I also love the muted gray color of the buffet. I am thinking of using a similar, maybe a bit lighter, color on my living room walls (where my white piano and Settee sets are). Side note- Did you know that "grey" is the British way of spelling and "gray" is the American way? I seem to learn new things every day!
I also took down the chandelier that was above my piano so I could paint and bead it, but I can't decide if I want it white or light aqua! Once the walls are painted light gray, I don't know if a light blue chandelier would look as good as a white!? I need your opinions! Which do you like better?

OR should I just go ALL white- white chandelier frame with white crystals??

I've already primed it and am just waiting to make my decision! Oh, the joys of decorating! It's kind of a love-hate relationship.. love thinking up ideas, hate deciding!

I absolutely love the wall paper to the right in this room. Maybe in a bathroom or bedroom?

AND I have just fallen in love with this entryway. So elegant, but still "homey".
Stay tuned for MANY project and move-in pics as they are still on my camera waiting to be downloaded!!... Now if I can just find that camera connector cord!

What beautiful inspiration photos! I think any of the colors you chose for the chandelier sound good but my first choice would be all white.

goodness girl! one month! haha I know how it is moving! not fun and there is NO time for anything! I think aqua color for the chandelier would be really different and cool and depending on what color the walls are it could be just drop dead gorgous! I think maybe you should do a white wall paper with some pretty design ohhh that would look really good

Moving can be so draining...yet exciting at the same time as you set up house once again and find new life for items you have loved before.

I'd be inclined to leave the chandelier white but that blue is awfully beautiful...and with the grey it would look warmer than the white.

Yes, grey/gray...so many words with the English vs. American spelling.

Your home is so lovely and I think I would go with the white chandelier with the walls being a light gray!

Welcome back.....Moving is so hard!!!
7 years later and I still feel like I am not completely moved in. Meaning....I have not changed some of the horrible fixtures that the house came with.
Take your time~I am telling myself this too, since I never seem to complete one task before I jump to the next:)
I know your living room will be beautiful~Sheri

Hey girl,
I've missed ya....you have been one busy gal. I think the aqua is beautiful but you might get tired of it so I would probably go with all white if it were me. Can't wait to see the pics of your new home.

Good morning!!
I love working with chandeliers and lamps. We have so many options to add jewels and paint in any color. If you don't like how it turns out you can always change the color. I do like painting mine white I you can add and change the colors of the beads and crystals any time I get bored. Anyways good luck im sure what ever you choose, it will be lovely!

Love your blue chandelier idea. I think it would be very fun! And to be perfectly honest I can never remember how to spell gray or is it grey (I think a tad bit stupider (is that even a word) each year further I'm removed from college - especially since I always use spell check). So I guess the next time I spell it incorrectly perhaps others who read my writing will think that I'm British - or at least one can hope - as the alternative is so much worse. :)
